Yesterday I bought Jo Nesbø’s latest book about Harry Hole – the Snowman. It was published last summer, but at that time I was caught up in Henning Mankell’s books about Kurt Wallander. And I wanted to read it in paperback, cos I find that more practical.

It still hasn’t come in paperback and the urge to buy it got too big. My friend Chantal has bought one of Nesbø’s books and when she started to talk about it, all I could think of was his latest book. I know it’s great; friends have told me and critics has said the same.

So yersterday I went downtown after work to a book-shop to buy it. I asked the guy behind the counter if he knew when it was going to be published as a paperback. He said that no date had been set yet. That’s when I realised I just had to buy it in hardcover. So that’s what I did.

On the bus to see my sister (a five minutes ride) I started to read. Oh dear. I only had to read one and a half page and I was sucked back in. His writing is so good. It’s actually more than good, it’s brilliant. I love his caracther Harry Hole. Two pages and a paragraph into the third I read this:

“You can leave” she hissed. “but first you’re gonna fuck me. Is that clear?” She felt his breath against her face. It came in hard paces now. She hit him again with the free hand, his dick grew in her hand.

It blew me away. My mouth must’ve been wide open and my eyes bigs large plates. At that time, I knew that this book wasn’t just any book. This would be a book I couldn’t lay rest for a long period of time.

And I was right. I read about 60 pages yesterday and when I woke up this morning at 8.30, I first went online for a little time to check flickr and then I went back to bed and read some more. When I ate my two slices of bread with egg for breakfast, I read some more. The plan was to read while I ate and do something else when I was finished eating. I simply couldn’t stop reading. So far I’ve read 130 pages.

300 pages left. 300 pages of delight, creepyness, laughter and my mouth wide open. I bet I will find the killer two or three times… and when I close the book realise none of my guesses where right!

Lost tracks

For the two last days I’ve organized my CD collection. I want my CD collection to be sorted out after name. alphabetical. Up to now, only half of my collection has been organized. Please don’t ask my why only half of it was in order…

It’s been a boring job, but also fun. Sorting out my CD’s I’ve been able to see what I really got. And I found things I forgot I had, muisc I haven’t listened to in ages. There are CD’s I haven’t touched in years.

I haven’t counted them, but roughly I got 350 CDs. The problem with so many CDs that I got, is that you simply got too much. It’s impossible to listen to all of it. I have a lot of great muisc that I rarely listen to becuase there is so much to choose from.

The fun of going through my music is to find super songs, I had forgot about – to rediscover things. Like today. I found a CD from the White Strip. And it’s not one of their most famous ones. It’s ‘White Bloodcells’. And it cotains the greatest White Stripe song every – Hotel Yorba. I used to love that song and I still do. I can listen to it over and over and over again. And it makes me happy.

Last weekend, when Ellen visited me, we listened to old CD’s. We came across some great Norwegian music like the Margarets, Ralph Mayers and the Jack Herren Band, Tennis and Karin Park. Lovely, lovely!

Yesterday was so fine. It couldn’t last, could it?

Of course not. Today I feel shit. My period come this morning and it’s had a major affect on my mood. I’m really annoyed at everything here at the office today. And a stupid client, which I haven’t spoken to in a while, had to call exactly today. I don’t like him at all, because he’s trying to be so über-friendly without no reason. He doesn’t anymore, but earlier when he called me, he always started the conversation with saying ‘hey friend’ with his sleezy voice. *puke*

I’m also tired and hungry. It’s almost as bad as it can get. *sigh* I wish I could go home right now, but it’s still 45 mins left. 45 dreafull minutes. I better get my ass going and do something usefull so the time might fly away. Ahem… as if!

This is not a to-do-list, because I never do things on that list. My ambition isn’t as high as earlier. Let me present the things-i-wish-to-have-done-by-the-end-of-this-week-list:

* create birthday card for Hanne, Ranjan and Lisbeth
* wrap Hanne’s gift
* buy a gift for Ranjan and Lisbeth
* laundry
* change my bed-linen
* wash the bathroom
* vacuum my apartment
* organize my CD’s alphabetically.
* find pictures to print and print them at Hanne.
* hang up pictures in my bedroom.
* find out who to be a the dress-up party next month (23rd of Feb)
* water my plants
* put together my two new chairs from IKEA
* email Arnaud
* set a date to see Bjørg / email her.
* work on luckytown.no – find out what sets to create.

Ten past dead

This morning I did something I haven’t done in years – I overslept! The alarm on my cellphone hits off at 06.20 as usual. I wake up and turn it off and go back to sleep. Half an hour later I wake up again, realizing I had overslept. I get up quickly, take a shower and wash my hair, get dressed while watching some TV, brush my teeth and go to work. It takes me about half an hour and I’m not late for work.

The reason I overslept? Hm. I went to bed at about 23.00 yesterday. I read in my new book about Bruce for about half an hour and turn off the lights at 23.30 (way too late). I lay for a while thinking about different things. Mostly unimportant things like FNL (friday night lights) *rolls eyes* I sleep for some hours and then I wake up. I had to pee and drink. I go back to sleep, but doesn’t sleep very long. I wake again, have to drink some more. And I really had the urge for something to eat. If there had been any chocolate in the house, I would’ve eaten that. That’s how bad it was. I ate some cheese and went back to bed. This time I had a hard time falling asleep. I tossed and turned for a while, before I finally was able to sleep.

Now I’m at work and have a hard time staying awake. Oh, what a beautiful morning! >:-/

Lucky Town

Finally! I’ve landed on Lucky Town. luckytown.no will soon be mine Ya-hey!

I got some designing and html-making in front of me. I would like a small logo attached to the name Lucky Town. I guess I’ll start on that tonight!

it ain’t that bad!

I talked to Chantie last night and she really made me think. She asked me if I’ve ever thought about changing job. I was like ‘no, I like the job I got’. And then she was like ‘hmm, you complain a lot. Maybe you just tell me about the bad stuff then’. I assured her my job wasn’t that bad and I do complain/whine a lot and that and that’s why it seems like I don’t like my job.

When I walked down to the bus today, I started to think about what she’d and I had talked about. Do I really whine that much about my job? There’s really no need to.

Ok – there is things I don’t like about my job, days that sucks and days I really wish I was in my bed under a blanket, far, far away from the office. But I’m sure we all have those days.

Compared to my old job, this one is fantastic. I have great colleagues. Some of them are of course extremely annoying and stupid from time to time, but I can live with that. I get the chance to play cards with a colleague every day at lunch. I have a huge receptionist desk with lots of space and a big & comfortable office-chair. I have my own printer! No other of my colleagues has that. *sly face* My job has lots of different tasks. No day is like the other. We make a hot meal every Friday. I can listen to music at work.

See? Things are not THAT bad. I’m just stupid, mostly focus on the bad stuff and whine a lot. I really need to get my act together and stop this behaviour. Nobody want a constantly whining slut.

Why not make a rule to have two positive things for one bad one?

I told Chantie yesterday that the next mail I was going to write her while being at the office should be a positive mail. So now I’m off to write Chantie a short mail about the good stuff from today that actually has made me smile.

…and what will the name be?

You know, I got my domain liers-hq.no. The name sounded great at the beginning, but now… It’s hard to pronounce and nobody understands what hq stands for. Doh. I want a domain where I can present my pictures. I know I have flickr, but I want them on my own site as well.

So I want a new name. I’m not sure I ever will find a name. I’ve been thinking for a long, long time. Don’t remember when I first thought about it. It can be a year ago, maybe more?

First I thought about a name that was related to taking pics, cameras etc. But I’m not sure. I haven’t been able to find the name that is IT! So… now I’m thinking in new directions. And guess in what direction? Uhm… Bruce… haha.

First I thought about jungleland.no, but that was of course taken. Now I’m thinking about luckytown.no which is avaliable….

I better decide very soon, or else I might change my mind again…
